We understand from the rumour mill that consultation on the Basin Reserve flyover is due to commence on Monday 15 March. Given that we have not heard from NZTA since the meetings late last year, there is now considerable confusion around the community as to whether this date is correct, so I would be grateful if you could confirm the Agency's intentions.

Hi Kent,
No we are not going to begin public consultation on the planned transport improvements around the Basin Reserve on 15 March but we are expecting to be able to make an announcement next week as to when public consultation will start. I will contact you directly (either by phone or email) as to details as soon as these are available.

On the upside, at least the Basin Reserve escapes molestation for another few days weeks months. On the downside, the community groups that are most affected by the proposed flyover haven't had any formal contact with the NZ Transport Agency since the original briefings three months ago ...
